do I know if the battery needs charging? Right click on the Caveo™
icon in the system tray (lower right corner of desktop) and select Change Settings.
Enter your User PIN, then click on the Status tab. The battery status is shown
there. Note that the battery power shown is accurate at startup after the computer
has been powered off, or the PC Card has been ejected, for a short while (10-15
minutes). While the computer is on and the battery is recharging, the setting
may stay the same or go up, but may not correspond to the true battery level.
The battery automatically recharges when the computer is on, so with normal
use you should not need to worry about battery life. If your computer is left
powered off, the Caveo™ Anti-Theft system should continue to operate for
about three weeks if the battery was fully charged at the beginning. Complete
recharging from a fully discharged state takes about 30 hours, and the computer
must be powered on with the suspend/hibernate mode disabled. |
