What happens if I remove the PC Card?

If the Caveo®Anti-Theft PC Card is ejected from the laptop while the system is armed, the card will emit warning tones until it is reinserted. If the card is not reinserted within 20 seconds, the system will go into alarm state. The PC Card will sound the alarm, and the laptop will shut down.

A disarmed card may be ejected from its laptop at any time. If you need to free up the PC Card slot for another purpose, eject the Caveo® card while the laptop is powered on and the Caveo®system is disarmed. Then you will be able to shut down and power up again without the presence of the Caveo® PC Card. If the disarmed card is ejected while the laptop is powered off, then that card will need to be reinserted upon the next power on.
